A Black conservative content creator says she was escorted out of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s campaign rally in San Antonio after being told his campaign manager wanted her to leave, despite her support for President Donald Trump and other Republican candidates.

Thelma Louise, who has more than 200,000 followers on TikTok, documented her trip to Paxton’s “Come and Take It” tour on Sunday (October 18). She said she drove two hours to attend the event, where Paxton was promoting his U.S. Senate campaign.

In videos posted to TikTok, Louise appeared shocked as she was escorted out of the venue. She said someone told her Paxton’s campaign manager wanted her to leave but did not explain why.

“I drove two hours to get here, and I have done nothing but support everyone on the Republican side, and this is how I get treated?” Louise said.

Louise said she left the Democratic Party two years ago while living in Nevada and has worked to promote Republican candidates. She also said she volunteered for Trump’s campaign as a Trump Force captain.

In a follow-up video posted Monday (October 19), Louise said she still had not received an explanation for her removal. She also showed press credentials from previous Republican events, including the Texas Youth Summit and the Republican midterm convention in Dallas.

“Was I mistaken for someone else? I don’t know what it was,” she said.

Louise said she did not blame the Republican Party as a whole for the incident, but held Paxton’s campaign manager responsible for how she was treated.

“Ken Paxton’s campaign manager, that person is 100% responsible for the disrespect that I received this evening,” she said.

In another follow-up video shared Monday, Louise said she was later told she had been mistaken for a paid agitator supporting Texas state Rep. James Talarico, a Democrat running for the U.S. Senate against Paxton.

However, she said she did not know whether that explanation was true. Louise added that she plans to speak directly with Paxton and his campaign manager and still wants a public apology. Paxton’s campaign has not publicly explained why she was asked to leave.
