White Security Guard Threatens Black Man With Taser In Viral Video

A white security guard was caught on video harassing a Black resident at a Denver apartment complex.

In a YouTube video shared on Sunday (January 5), a Black driver was attempting to leave his parking garage to run errands when he was stopped by a security guard, who accused the man of not being an apartment resident.

“Go, get moving. If I see you back on the property, you’ll be detained,” the security said.

The man insisted he was a resident but declined to provide identification or tell the guard what unit he lived him. The security guard also refused to identify himself, saying he had no obligation to do so because he wasn't a police officer.

An argument between the two ensued. As the situation escalated, the security guard yanked the driver's car door open, pulled out his Taser, and ordered the man to exit the vehicle. The security guard threatened to tase the resident for refusing to identify himself.

“I live here, I live here," the driver repeated.

“What unit?” the guard asked, “so I can advise property management, who on their property is acting like an absolute child, making threats.”

The resident denied the claim that he had threatened the officer and informed him that he was just trying to go to the store.

“It’s too late for that now, now we’re waiting for my partner," the guard responded.

The security guard then went back to his vehicle and blocked the driver from exiting the garage.

“Are you going to tell me what unit you live in?” the guard asked again.

The encounter seemingly ended after the driver told the guard “I hear you.”
