Dakota White, a seven-year-old Black girl from Dallas Texas, is being hailed as the "fastest kid in the nation" after setting a new national record for the Junior Olympics.

Earlier this month, Dakota, alongside her teammates from the Xpress Track Club in Fort Worth, set a new record for the girls' eight and under 100-meter relay at the AAU Junior Olympics, Fox 4 News reports.

Dakota ran her part in 59.08 seconds, also setting a new national record.

Prior to becoming a national record holder, Dakota made headlines last year when videos of her running at a track meet went viral.

Dakota began training at the ripe age of three with help from her father Cam White, a former TCU wide receiver.

“She just had form, like crazy form. It wasn’t fast, but her form was already perfect. So then as she progressed, we started getting her different trainers,” her father told Fox 4 News.

On social media, Dakota has shared that her motto is "no days off." The seven-year-old said she continues to train hard despite Texas' hot summer days.

She makes sure to stay hydrated and intake a balanced diet optimal for training, her father said.

“Cut down on different snacks and foods, eating pretty healthy. As a kid, you know they like to eat a lot of junk food. Don’t get me wrong. I didn’t take a lot away from her, but we limited what she could eat,” he said.

“She trains hard," the father added.

The family said they're planning to hang Dakota's new medal in her room beside pictures of the young runner's idol, fellow North Texas native and LSU track star Sha’Carri Richardson.
