Stacey Abrams Says She'll 'Absolutely' Run For President In The Future

In recent weeks, reports have suggested that voting rights activist Stacey Abrams could run to replace Brian Kemp as governor of Georgia. However, Abrams may have bigger hopes and dreams. During a recent interview, Abrams said that she'll absolutely run for President in the coming months.

"Do I hold it as an ambition? Absolutely," Abrams said while promoting her latest book, White Justice Sleeps.

"And even more importantly, when someone asks me if that's my ambition, I have a responsibility to say yes, for every young woman, every person of color, every young person of color, who sees me and decides what they're capable of based on what I think I am capable of. Again, it's about you cannot have those things you refuse to dream of."

Abrams is not the only person who has possibly teased a run at becoming President in the future. Recently, reports have suggested that President Joe Biden has already discussed reelection possibilities. Furthermore, Biden is reportedly not overlooking the potential of another showdown with former reality show host Donald Trump.

"I wouldn't want to estimate or underestimate Donald Trump as an opponent if he chooses to run," White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain told Axios.

Biden's running mate, Kamala Harris, could also prove to be a force in the upcoming election. Oddsmakers have already listed her as the early favorite within the Democratic Party if she decides to run in 2024.

“Kamala Harris remains the favorite to win the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election. Her 7/2 odds (22.2% implied probability) put her just ahead of Joe Biden, who’s 9/2 (18.2%) to win re-election in 2024,” a release from US Bookies stated.

On the Republic end of the spectrum, Trump is listed as the heavy favorite if he decides to run in 2024. If he decides to step away from politics in the future, U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley is listed as the next most favorable candidate.
