The terms of Kyle Rittenhouse's bail have changed yet again. A judge in Wisconsin has ruled that Rittenhouse may not consume alcohol or associate himself with members of known hate groups during the course of his trial.
These recent changes come shortly after Rittenhouse was photographed inside a bar on January 5. Hours after pleading not guilty to shooting multiple protesters last year, Rittenhouse appeared to be flashing white power signs and fraternizing with Proud Boys at a bar in Wisconsin.
“The defendant’s continued association with members of a group that prides itself on violence, and the use of their symbols, raises the significant possibility of future harm,” Assistant District Attorney Jason Zapf wrote in a filing after the photos surfaced.
"Further, this association may serve to intimidate potential witnesses, who may be unwilling to testify in this case because they may fear that the defendant’s associates with harming them or their families.”
Rittenhouse was also spotted in the establishment without a face mask while wearing a shirt that read, "Free as f---." Once these incidents and proposed changes were raised, attorneys for Rittenhouse did not object.
Rittenhouse remains free after posting his $2 million bail. He is currently being charged with fatally shooting two people during the protests that followed the shooting of Jacob Blake Jr. He has pled not guilty to all charges. Rittenhouse nor his attorney have publicly commented on the recent changes made to his bail.
